What We’ve Been Up To

Internship Matching Program

We're nearing the end of another successful internship matching program - our 12th in fact! The program connects MBA students with high-performing search fund CEOs in one of our operating companies to work side-by-side for the summer. The dedication of the interns who jump right into their roles and the meaningful operating experience that they are able to depart with continue to impress us each year. Mid-program, we gathered this year's crew in Cape Cod for a few days of community-building, brainstorming, mentorship, and seaside fun! If you'd like to learn more about the internship program as an interested CEO or as a student, please reach out to Hannah Barrett.

High-Performance Product & Engineering

This summer, we debuted a new Value Creation offering - High-Performance Product & Engineering (HPPE) Bootcamp. Led by our product and engineering guru and operating partner, Scott Barstow, the two-day bootcamp intimately gathers a small number of companies for optimal output. Over a series of interactive sessions and workshops, HPPE dives into:

Organization Structure and Team Composition: Optimizing your team's structure to accelerate productivity and innovation, and align to business goals.

Prioritization and Roadmap Planning: Effective techniques for setting priorities, eliminating excess work in progress, and mapping out product development to align with business goals.

Getting Work Done More Effectively Across the Team: Strategies for improving collaboration, communication, and execution within and across teams, as well as essential KPIs to track performance.

If you'd like more information on HPPE, please reach out to Scott (pictured here with Kabir Nakra - matching outfits not required to attend).

Giving Back

We'd like to extend a big thank you to Rosie's Place and Animal Rescue League of Boston for sharing their time with our team! We loved learning about and supporting the impact that these two organizations have on the Boston community.

Book Club

We have a double-header for you this quarter. Our first reading recommendation comes from Kabir Nakra, who recently finished “Think Like a Monk” by Jay Shetty.

Kabir says, “I loved Think Like a Monk! It's an easy, entertaining read that takes you on a deep exploration of yourself. I've come out the other side with very tactical tricks (multiple in each chapter!) on how to filter through noise and remain highly productive, confident, and humble. If you're looking to explore and define your personal 'LifeOS' for how you go about your day to day (and sometimes bigger strategic moments), I'd highly recommend diving in.”

Our second comes from Julian Dickenson, who has been enjoying “Mindset: The New Psychology of Success” by Carol Dweck.

Julian says, “I've always admired and strived to emulate those who push the limits of their abilities. When I first read Mindset, it immediately resonated with me, highlighting my attraction to people who embrace a growth mindset—the belief that we can enhance our abilities through effort, learning, and persistence. It's a book I revisit every year.”
