Nick and Shaq bought the business after about a one year search, having built deep expertise in concierge through a thesis-driven approach. That journey took Nick & Shaq across the United States – with lots of travel and conference visits and meetings with over 35 concierge practices – and exemplified strong thesis-driven searching. They are motivated by patients’ need for a higher quality of care, inspired by their own families’ healthcare experiences.
We could not be more excited for Nick and Shaq to step into the CEO seat and lead – we’ve admired their relationships first approach, entrepreneurial spirit, and hustle since we first met them in early 2021 during their first year at Harvard Business School. They later went on to intern at a Pacific Lake operating company (OneShield) for the summer. Before search, Nick was a Consultant at McKinsey Dallas and an Associate at Sycamore Partners in New York. Shaq worked at Bain & Company’s Dallas office and later at Peterson Partners. He’s also a two-time startup entrepreneur (and has appeared on SharkTank twice). We have had a blast working with Nick and Shaq through their search and are very fortunate to continue to be close partners with them on the journey ahead as they continue to build HealthVantage Partners.
Pacific Lake’s Kevin Oxendine has joined the board.
