“There's a lot of learning that has to happen — things that inevitably require attention while you're learning, and emotionally transitioning yourself into a new place. It's really difficult to prepare yourself upfront, but you have to be able to live it.”

Sarah grew up watching her father found and build his own business with partners. The business moved through various stages, eventually being sold. Although it came with its own stresses, it also gave him control (and freedom) over his life. These memories ignited the entrepreneurial spark: Sarah and Scott's desire to search.

Why Sarah invested in us
Search is just a different spin on entrepreneurship, actually more entrepreneurial than one might think. Sarah and Scott made the decision to search as partners, being highly collaborative extroverts, enjoying exploring ideas together, and giving and receiving constructive feedback. Their advice for new searchers, or anyone considering search (solo or with a partner)? "There's the running of the search process, and the running of the business on the other side. Those are two really different things. Keep them separate in your mind, and think about that end goal."
